I love trying new places to eat so for my Twenty Fifth birthday, my sister, my dad and I visited Yaya’s in Manchester.
Previously known as Sahara Grill, Yaya’s is known for it’s delicious steak and Bagel Burgers. I had herd good things so my expectations were high when we entered the restaurant.
As we were getting seated, I could not help but look around and see how rustic but elegant the place was. We were immediately greeted by a waiter who provided us with a menu.
I already took a sneaky peak at the menu before we set off so we did not take too long to decide what to order. For starters, I had the Grilled Prawns. First of all the size of the prawns was something to marvel at. I am use to restaurants serving small prawns but these were jumbo and came with a hit of chilli I was not expecting. They also came with the shell on which again I wish I was made aware off as I may not have ordered them (It can get messy)
The star of the show however has to be the Mango Chicken Steak. I am not usually a steak person but with every mouthful I put in my mouth I exclaimed how delicious it was.
The Mango chicken steak was a piece of chicken steak doused in Mango chutney, I am a huge fan of the Sherwood Mango Chutney which I could eat by the jar full and this was a tangier, delicious chunkier version of it.
To go alongside the piece of steak you also get a side of chips, vegetables and mash potatoes with a choice of peppercorn sauce or creamy peppercorn sauce. The chips were the right size and veggies were deliciously soft and complimented the steak perfectly.
Washing it down I decided to have the Berry Mojito on my sister’s recommendation. If you know me, you will know berries are my favourite fruit and my mojitos are usually berry themed but I have to say this was one of the most refreshing mojitos I have tried so far.
Overall If you are looking somewhere special to eat or just really enjoy steak I would highly recommend Yaya’s. The service was on point and the food and atmosphere makes it a place I want to visit again soon.
