About six years ago, I came to realise I was sensitive to dairy and for someone who often indulged in a bit of chocolate once a day, it was a revelation. to me. At the time there were not many alternatives on the market, fast forward to 2017, there are many alternatives out there and after trying a few, I thought I would share my go too three dairy free chocolate alternatives to indulge in this easter.
I remember discovering Montezuma Chocolate a few years ago and instantly falling in love. My go to are their chocolate buttons. I could eat the entire packet in one sitting. It is not the creamiest chocolate from the bunch but they are tasty. The bars come in a range of flavours from Mint to Sea Dog.
Speaking of creamy chocolate Loving Earth is a chocolate brand that feels like a treat but is actually healthy for you. Made from wholesome ingredients, if you are someone who dislikes dark chocolate, Loving Earth create creamy chocolate using cashew nuts or coconut and it is a great alternative to regular milk chocolate. I have tried a few flavours but my go to has to be The Hazelnut Mylk flavour.
The Raw Chocolate company has been a recent rediscovery of mine. There is a health food shop in Leeds which stock this in a range of flavours. Every week, without fail I have to pick up a couple. my go too is their Vanoffee range. This is tea dunk able approved chocolate. It is creamy, full of flavour and just feels like a treat that like to experience when you eat a bar of chocolate. If you love Hazelnut, their Salted Hazelnut Vanoffee bar is the one.
There are more dairy free chocolate alternatives out there, however these are ones which are more readily available perfect for this Easter Weekend.
