Make Up Monday – Birthday Daytime look

1st February 2016 by naffy

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Urban Decay Vice Palette On Thursday, it was my 25th birthday and I spent the day on a course for work. It was lovely day and I thought I would share with you the make up I wore, so this weeks Make up Monday is the birthday daytime look I wore that day.

For the base, I change it up slightly and decided to the Vichy Dermablend Correction Fluid. To me this is a cross between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation. Vichy recently extended their colour range which means if you’re pale or have a deeper skin tone there should a shade for you. I have the shade 35 and so far, I think it is working well with my skin.

Concealer wise, I opted for the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade 20. I really like the consistency of this and the way it brightens under my eyes compared to other drugstore concealers I have tried in the past.

I wanted to use my favourite products so I decided to go in with my NARS One Shocking Moment. I actually use this gem everyday. I first applied some warmth back in to my face with NARS Laguna and then contoured my cheeks with NARS Palloma. If you have an Olive Skintone or a deeper skin tone this is a great shade to add shadows in to the contours of your cheek. It is a dull shade which is the kind you need so you do not look muddy.

For the blush I was torn between Dolce Vita and my Kiko Blush in the shade 110. I decided on the Kiko one to counteract the deep bold lips. To end the face I highlighted the heck out of my cheeks using my go too Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in the shade Opal.

To tackle the eyes, I used two palettes. The first one was my Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette. I do not use this palette as often as I should but it contains two of my favourite shades. The first one was the shade which is a matte brown shade and the shimmery orange shade Flame. This combination is one my go to when I need a good but subtle eye look. To amp it up slightly I decided to use my Inglot palette as it has a beautiful Auburn shade in it.

Finishing off the eyes I went in with my Estee Lauder Little Black Primer and my Loreal Feline Mascara. This mascara is great but be warned it is incredibly hard to get off your lashes.

I always do the brows before my lips and filled my brows in with the Freedom Brow Pomade. You can see my eye brow routine here and there is a review I did with before and after pictures.

Ending with the lips, as I was on a course I knew I would be drinking copious amount of tea so I went for a lip look that would not have me looking like I had a clown face. I chose my Kiko Lip Liner and my NARS VIP Red. This is my go to red lipstick at the moment and my go too for meetings and weddings a like.

And that is my go to Birthday day time look. Let me know what kind of make up you enjoy wearing on your birthday. Do you do anything special or different?
