International Womens Day

Inspirational Digital Women #Internationalwomensday

8th March 2016 by naffy

International Womens Day As it is international womens day, I wanted to disrupt the daily dose of my regular rants and share with you something different. The digital space is growing, more and more women are able to express themselves more freely than before. I have seen a rise in campaign after campaign, business after business. Women digital influencers are making their voices herd and yet do not always get the recognition they deserve, which is why I wanted to share with you just a snippet of the inspirational digital women changing the world.

Fleur De Force
One of the first vloggers, I came across was Fleur De Force. That was over four years ago. Her videos remain one of my favourites to watch, regardless how many videos are in my to watch playlists I gravitate towards her videos first. Genuine, factual, fun and calming Fleur does not tell you the things which matter to her outright instead her personality shows you how she values her readers and watchers, family and friends which is refreshing to see.

Tanya Burr
Mrs Burr, really needs no introduction as I am sure many of you are aware of her. Tanya recently started working with the United Nations to help fight Gender Equality in a way that is inclusive regardless of race or religion. Her #Timeforgirls campaigns highlights that even in todays society women across the world are denied basic rights such as education, independence and even having access to menstrual toiletries.

Megan Gilbride
Having gone through my own troubles, I know how hard it can be to put yourself out there completely bare naked and talk to people on the internet. It is not as easy as typing away and hitting the publish button. It takes a lot of mental and physical stamina which is why I have a lot of love and respect for my friend Megan.

Megan runs the blog Wonderful you and admists some incredible photography she discusses issues many women are scared to talk about. From talking about Mental Health to confidence and body issues Megans words are almost poetic and resonate with women across the world opening up conversations which need to be had.

Lily Singh AKA iiSuperwomanii
Something which regular gnaws at me is woman feeling like we are each others competition. The hate it can ignite is detrimental to us. Lily demonstrates the exact opposite. Using her mass social media following, she single handed started a campaign Girl Love which aims ti inspire us all to spread love not hate, something that I am all about. It grabbed the attention of high profile influencers from across the globe.

When she is not trying to make the world a better place, Lilly works hard to get across to her unicorns the importance of looking after yourself and positive thinking.

Kati Morton
As humans we find it hard to speak about mental health, in particular our personal experiences surrounding mental health. As women we tend to find this extremely.

We are learning more and more about how younger people are developing anxiety, depression and more. Kati Morton is a trained therapist and entrepreneur who uses her knowledge and provides information in bite size easy to understand regardless of your age.

I have been watching her videos for the past couple of years. They are informative, engaging and most importantly incredibly helpful in understanding my feelings and emotions at times I felt lost and panic stricken.

Each of these women demonstrates how far we have come and how far we have to go. As women we are developing our voices and using them in many ways. That is something to be proud off.

We may have a long way to go but we are heading in the right direction and that is something worth celebrating.
