The cafe is based on Portobello Road (which side note is one of the prettiest roads I have walked across) and is known for its brunch menu from Avocado on Toast to Porridge and more. It caters for vegans from everything to the food right down to their hot chocolate.
After spending a while deliberating the menu I opted for the Berry Pancakes as they were dairy free which is hard to come by. The pancakes came with syrup, strawberries and desiccated coconut. I also decided to try the hot chocolate made with Almond Milk and I have to say I was incredibly impressed.
The Berry Pancakes were made American Style and were fluffy, soft and sweet without being overly sweet – just the way I like it. I actually ended up finished this in like 5 minutes it was that good.
As for the hot chocolate, it was good – I may have added a little bit more honey to make it sweeter but it was still delicious and was better than any dairy free hot chocolate I could make myself.
Farm Girl Cafe was very welcoming, the staff were friendly and didn’t mind me take endless pictures of my food before I ate it. They do not take bookings as it is quite small but they have a little alfresco dining too which is perfect for the end of summer and the beginning of Autumn.
The only downside is that it is on the pricier side of the brunch scale but it is a great option for a special treat and a place I cannot go back and visit.
