Budget buys – under £10

23rd October 2013 by naffy
Hello my beauties, I love make up and beauty but there is no denying that it can be expensive. If you are a student or looking for work realistically as much as you may want all the Hourglass and Kevin Aucoin products in the world but there are more important things you need to spend your money on. That does not mean that you can’t enjoy make up and get the thrill of new launches.

That is the purpose of this post to show you that you can still treat yourself every now and then. All of these products are under £10 making them perfect for a when you need a lift.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Blush | £4.99
This is the first cream blush I own and I am in love. It bring some life back to my face. I did review it here but basically it is soft, easy to blend, lasts all day and perfect if you are looking for that dewy glow. It doesn’t cake up like powder blushes can. I know the packaging may not look like much but there is a a lot in there and it will last you a long time. I have had mine since summer and there is no dent yet.

Sleek Blush | £4.99
If you like NARS blushes or have lusted after them these offerings from Sleek is a great drugstore alternative. The blushes are deeply pigmented, you only need to swipe your brush across the blush to get colour pay off.  Long lasting, extensive colour range and beautiful ‘sleek’ packaging definitely worth a treat.

Maybelline the Falsies mascara | £7.99
As much as I would like to own Lancome hypnose mascara or Dior show mascara (these are the only two high end mascaras I would even consider buying when I get a stable job) I cannot justify it when there are a variety of good quality mascaras at the drugstore. My favourite one is the Falsies extreme black from Maybelline. I always get compliments when I wear this. This mainly focuses on volume which is what I look for rather than lengthening. Saying that, Maybelline has an extensive range of Mascara so I am willing to guarantee that you will find a mascara to suit you.

Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo’s | £4.99
Now you know my love for the Benefit creaseless cream eye shadows and while I am happy to collect them as I know I will wear them at their price it is more a treat. Thankfully Maybelline developed their version and I have to say at under £5 they are incredible. The colour pay off is wonderful, you can either apply it lightly with your fingers or with a brush for more colour pay off. My favourite shades are Metallic Pomegranate and On & On bronze (bad to the bronze for those of you in the US) If you are from America I am really jealous of the extensive collection you have of this range in the UK it is still relatively small.

Revlon Super Lusterous Lipstick | £5.49
I admit it, I can be a bit of a lipstick snob. To me a lipstick needs to be pigmented, bold, long lasting and not run all over my face. I use to think this was impossible to find at the drugstore that was until I tried this line from Revlon. I only have one shade at the moment (Cherries in the snow) but I know I will be adding to it. There are a variety of colours to choose from so you will not be stuck finding that flattering shade.

Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick 107 | £5.49
I herd you all groan at me mentioning this lipstick shade again and I do apologise BUT I could not write this post without including it. The perfect deep wine berry tone is perfect for this time of year. It can be hard to find a good matte lipstick on the high street but I actually prefer the matte formula of this compared to some higher end versions I have tried.

The body shop camomile eye and lip waterproof make up remover | £8.00

I have tried my fair share of eye make removers from the drugstore and this is currently my favourite. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and gets all the gunk off your face without breaking your lashes.

The drugstore is always coming out with launches and recently have been upping their game so if you like this post I am sure I will have another one in the future.

Tweet me and let me know what your favourite budget buys are.

Lots of love

The Colour Tattoo's are so good. I have a few colours but always on the look out for new ones to pick up. They are easy to wear and never crease on me.
