To Do List

What I learnt from the first quarter for 2019

30th April 2019 by naffy

To Do List Can you believe we are a quarter of the way through the year? Where has the time gone? I thought it would be a good time to sit and reflect on how things have changed during the first quarter of 2019.

Spontaneity is not the devil

That sounds a little ominous. What I mean is being spontaneous is a good thing. I use to be a lot more spontaneous and while it is hard to do that in London, I should really do it more. One of the things I have realised recently is that there is beauty in being spontaneous especially if you are creative. When I go home to visit my family, I don’t plan anything. I just keep away from my laptop and let the chips fall where they may and it is the most refreshing feeling ever. I also started spending more time with the people I live with and friends without over planning my days and it really opens you up to know perspectives.

Planning only gets you so far

I talked about this more in last weeks blogpost about doing more and dreaming less. I have big plans, big plans which more often than not stay in my head. It is time to put that planning into use expect some new ideas coming to life in the new part of the year.

I need seven hours of sleep

I realised while I can function on 5-6 hours of sleep my optimal sleep time is 7 hours. This is where I am at my best and my concentration is at its best. Technology is a beautiful thing and I now have an alert for my bedtime. Sounds stupid but it means I am more mindful of my habits which makes a big difference.

There are many things I noticed of the past few months but these are the more tangible things which help my personal and professional goals.

What did this quarter teach you?
