I love a good podcast. To the extent, it can be hard to keep on top of them all. HOWEVER, that doesn’t stop me from falling in love with new ones, which is why I wanted to share three podcasts to download this week.
Football, Feminism and everything in between.
I came across Grace Campbell and her work a while ago and fell in love. When she announced she was going to be launching a podcast with her father Alistair Campbell who was the press secretary for Tony Blair, during his time in office and is big in the political world I was sold. He loves football, she’s a feminist and together they created the ultimate podcast Football, Feminism and everything in between. I adore the father-daughter dynamic between them. You can see how close their relationship is. They also have incredible guests on the show such as Jamie Carragher, Ed Milliband, and Rachel Riley.
I adore books, I also love learning about the people behind the book. Writing anything is so personal and there is something so mesmerising about hearing their story, why they write the way they do, why they chose this specific plot. The Vintage Book podcast is an arm of the publishing company Vintage Book and give us an insight into the minds of authors.
Hear to Slay
Roxanne Gay and Dr Tressie McMillan Cottom sit down and get real about slaying in life as a person of colour. They interview political figures, actresses, and others in the community discussing all things from the hustle, being in charge as a black woman and more. Hear to slay is an empowering podcast and very relatable. I like podcasts which are thought-provoking and this really does open your eyes. You do need to get the Luminary App to listen to this (you can get a free trial if you fancy testing it out). I’ve been testing it out recently and so far, so good.
If you’re looking for more recommendations, I do a weekly update on the podcasts I’ve been listening too during the week on my Instagram page.
