It is no secret time moves fast and as such we can let events go past without us ever reflecting on them or taking them in, which is why I thought I would share three highlights from the past month.
Five Feet Apart
I watched a lot of films this month. All of them were genuinely great but the one which stuck out to me was Five Feet Apart. It is a story about two teenagers living with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease which means those affected have to stay six feet away from each other. Not only does this film capture what happens when two people with Cystic Fibrosis fall in love and the importance of physical human connection but it also very accurately portrays the emotions and the day to day problems those suffering with CF experience. It is sad, happy and 100% emotional. It is one film you will not forget in a hurry. The art of storytelling means you can highlight important stories, issues, and communities. This film captures that beautifully.
Spending time with friends
I spent a lot more time being spontaneous this month and by that I mean if my housemate wanted to hang out then I would without worrying it would eat into my plans for the day. I find it hard to switch off during the day and can often feel guilty for spending an afternoon out when I have chores or errands to do. This month, I felt a little switch and decided to make the most out of my weekends and spend time with people who matter to me.
Brighter days = Walks in the park
In terms of the weather, March has been the brightest month of the year so far. The days are getting longer and the sun has been out. (Totally blaming global warming by the way) When this happens in London, it can only mean one thing, visiting the parks. My cousin and I managed to sneak in a weekend trip to a nearby park which was lovely. The park itself reminded me of the family parks back up north and it was lovely to be around.
What were your three highlights from the month? Let me know!
