I love a good podcast. They are the perfect accompaniment to a walk, a cleaning spree or a summer cooking session. I even listen to them while I am in the office ploughing through work. After a little bit of a reshuffle of my podcast app, there are some new additions I needed to share with you.
If you are a fan of The High Low, you will love listening to this. As someone who enjoys Love Island as much as I enjoy Question Time, Unpopped gives me the perfect balance between popular culture and high news. A BBC Podcast hosted by the wonderful Hayley Campbell, the panel show analyses everything from the role of Spices Girls within society to the impact of Bridget Jones within the world of literature. Intelligent chats about Victoria Beckham? I am in.
At Home With
I may have mentioned this podcast before but it back for season 2 bigger and better than ever which is why I wanted to bring it to your attention again. Content creators Anna Newton and Lily Pebbles peer into the homes of inspiring women from all industries to see what make them tick and what their homes mean to them, along side their career journeys and finding out how they got to where they are. It is really interesting to see how people shape their personal spaces and what it means to them. Season two kicked off with the incredible and ambitious Tanya Burr. Highlights from season 1 are Liz Earle, Zoe Sugg and Jo Elvin.
Flat White Chats
This is the one I listen too when I need some motivation from some kick ass women within the blogging/ creative industries. Being a multi hyphenate it can be hard to juggle things and I can find myself getting into a bit of a rut and feel like a bit of a failure. Listening to people like the wonderful Danielle Peazer and Lydia Elise Millen talking about their journey on Flat White Chats in such a brutal honest way reminds me that hard work and being a nice person does pay off. Robin from Everyman for Himself is the host and he is perfect. He gets the balance between banter and juicy questions perfect. He is a very relaxed comfortable host which is reflected in the interviews as all of his guests are at ease while speaking to him and are willing to be open and frank – something the world needs a bit more off.
Whenever I need a bit of a motivation I will turn to the above podcasts to give a bit of a boost and I hope they help kick start your week.
