The original beauty blender – Worth the hype? | Review

Beauty Blender Beauty Blender Review I’ll let you in on a a secret. Up until a couple of months ago, I had never used a Beauty blender so I was excited to give the original one a go and see if it was worth the hype.

For those of you who have yet to discover the beauty blender, it is essentially a sponge which you dampen with water to help apply your foundation. It aims to give you a more even flawless natural complexion and has taken the beauty world by storm in recent years.

The first thing to notice is that the application process is a little bit on long side as you have to spend a couple of extra minutes blending it out. The way I apply is is place the foundation on areas of my face using my finger tips then went in with the beauty blender to work it into the skin to give a flawless finish.

I will be honest it did a good job but it didn’t  do anything incredible exceptional on my face compared to a brush or my hands. I think it was because I actually do not use a heavy amount of foundation.

If you are someone who tends to wear slightly heavy foundation (Such as the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation) you will get a more out of using the beauty blender and I think it is more suited to thicker formulas and you can see more of a difference when you apply the foundation on the skin.

One way I found it made a difference was when I used it to blend it into my concealer. The Urban Decay Naked Concealer is great but it is a thick formula so I used the beauty blender under my eyes and it worked like an absolute dream preventing my concealer from being too heavy or cakey under my eyes.

Over all I think my expectations for the beauty blender were a little too high for the foundation I found  it fun and easy to use.
