The getting things done to do list | Life

productivity After the festive couple of weeks, it can be a bit hard to try and get back in to a routine. A week back into a reality and I am only just now feeling like myself. If you work from home especially, it can be very hard to get back in to the swing of things. When I feel like this there are somethings which I know I need to go to help me get back in to the game and getting things done.

Schedule a bedtime

During an break, your sleeping pattern can be up and down. This festive break in particular, my sleeping pattern was completely over the place. When this happens I make sure I get back to it by going to sleep and wake up at the same time. If you find this hard, you can set an alarm half an hour before bed so you can get ready and be in bed for the time you need to be.

Eat three Meals a day

During any holiday,  your eating habits change and you can go from eating dinner at 6pm to managing to eat something 10pm which can affect your body more than you realise. Going back to eating regularly three  meals a day (with snacks inbetween obvs) will give you the energy you need to be able to do the things you need to do.

Get Changed

This may seem a bit daft but we spend at lot of the festive period in our PJs which is absolutely fine but I find I am my most product when I get up and change my clothes. This could be just changing from PJs to sweats or t shirt and jeans. The physical act of changing your clothes will give you a little boost of productivity.

Set Weekly Goals

I use my bullet journal to write down everything I want to achieve that week. This way I can look back on it and check things off as I do them. I find it helps you to go from being reactive to productive and bringing your thoughts to life.

Write your day down

After setting my goals for the week I go a step further and plan out my day down to the hour. I know this isn’t for everyone but I would honestly say if you haven’t tried it, give it a go. It really helped me when I had exams to help me juggle studying with volunteering. As an adult it helps me juggle work, my social life and running my blog and YouTube channel.

What is on your back to reality to do list? How do you get things done?
