Part of self care is looking after yourself and skin you are in. For me that can include an evening skincare routine or half an hour snuggled up with a cup of tea Netflix. It very rarely includes a facial but after the best facial with ESPA Skincare, I think this may have to change.
ESPA is a skincare brand I am aware off but have rarely ventured in too. They recently opened a stand in the Manchester Harvey Nichols store which includes facials in their special treatment rooms.
The first thing I have to say is that this is hands down quite possibly the best facial therapy I have experience. I was instantly greeted with this zen room full of scented ESPA Products and meditation calming music playing in the background.
After this I was given a cup of water and advised I could take my time to get ready and settle down in the bed which came with a heated blanket. If you have yet to experience a heated blanket, let me tell you now it makes a world of difference.
When the therapist came in to the room, she instantly put me at ease and explained what she was going to do. She started off by taking off my makeup and took her time with massaging the products in the skin. I had a skin consultation so she knew which products to use during the facial. Each facial is catered to the individual skin concerns. For me, she focused on hydration as my skin is normal to dehydrated. She spent a hour taking care of me and my skin. She put just the right amount of pressure on the skin and took the time to ensure the products were placed in to the skin in the most pleasurable manner which is also effective to the skin.
She used a mixture of masks and serums on my skin including my favourite Pro Serum which completely soothed me, making me feel relaxed. I was also introduced to products from the brand I had not herd off including the Optimal Skin Cleanser and Refining Skin Polish.
The whole experience (I say experience as I feel it was much more than a facial) leaves you feeling zen, happy and in what can only be described in a non alcoholic drunken stooper. After my treatment, it took a while for me to come back to reality and I walked back to the train station in a little bit of a daze.
It was a great experience and for £50 it is really the investment. If you are someone who works 24 hours a day and need a rest or if you would like treat a loved one who loves skincare and beauty, it is worth visiting Harvey Nichols. I can honestly say I have had the best facial with ESPA Skincare and would return in a heartbeat.
