If there was one product NYX Cosmetics are well known for, it is for the NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream. When I recently visited the NYX stand, they were one of the first items I was eager to get my hands on. I ended up grabbing four shades. (Make up hoarding problems)
The first shade I knew I wanted to see if they have it in stock and that was the shade Copenhagen, which is a deep purple shade. In the tube, this looks darker than it come across on your lips. For a full deep purple shade, I would apply a purple lip liner underneath. You do get a deep purple with a hint of berry without the lip liner which on days you may not want something very intense.
The next shade I leaned towards was the shade Prague. The Soft Matte Lip Cream in Prague is a deep rich pink shade. I do not tend to wear true pink shades as much as I use to do and this is a beautiful colour. I found it came true to colour once I applied it on the lips. It is the shade of pink which is bold enough to allow me to feel I have something on my lips but still acceptable to wear to work.
One shade I was hoping to enjoy was the shade London. For one, I love the name. (London is one of my favourite cities) and in the tube it reminded me of the shade Stone from MAC, however unlike the deeper shade, this did not apply as well. I had it to build it up more than the others and feel like it was too much of a true nude for my lips.
San Paulo was the last shade I picked up. In all honesty this was due to curiosity as I am not usually the type of girl who wears bright shade, however this was wearable and works better than I imagined.
Formula was the NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Creams remind me of a Lip Laquer but had much more of a creamy velvet texture when applied to the lips. There is a slight sweet scent to the Soft Matte Creams, which I personally enjoy.
Aside from the discrepancy in the colour pay off in terms of the bold and bright shades, if you like the look of traditional matte lips but not the texture, for £5.50 they are worth trying.
