When it comes to drugstore highlighters, I think it is safe to say I have a firm favourite but in the in the interest of testing out new makeup products, I came across the highly anticipated MUA Luxe Glow Beam Highlighter.
The reason I was intrigued by the Glow Beam Highlighter is that unlike the other highlighters in my collection it is a loose powder – something I normally stay away from.
First thing is first – This is not as messy as it sounds. As you see the packaging has a little contraption which means you can keep the powder to a minimum, therefore less spillage.
The shade is a very gold shade so if you like a cooler tone highlighter this one may not be for you.
Formula wise – this is not a highlighter for the faint hearted. The very nature of the loose powder form means that your brush will pick up a lot of product. Even a highlighter fiend like me was shocked at how much applied on to my cheeks that I had to tone it back down as I was heading to work and had meetings where it may be too much. (Unfortunately)
I ended up falling in love with how it looked on the cheeks. At first, it looked like it may be a little bit too shimmery however the key is to blend it right. Once you do that, you are left with the most poppin’ cheeks in the room.
Originally, I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do but after only using for a couple of days I know this is one highlighter I will be breaking out for special occasions.
I do not know what is going through the drugstore right now but with the Glow Beam Highlighter and the Tanya Burr Illuminators, the budget friendly highlighting game is seriously strong.
