As it is January and this usually means many of us are not buying a lot of new make up, for this weeks make up Monday, I looked around my stash and ended up rediscovering some old favourites.
When looking through my make up collection I came across my Essence Silky Touch Blush in the shade babydoll. When I first found this blush it went in to my permanent everyday make up routine for months. It is subtle enough to wear during the day and buildable to wear with a bold lip. It blends like a dream on the cheeks and is one you can pick up all year around.
I have a well documented love affair with TheBalm Mary Lou Manizer, however since purchasing other higlighters like the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Opal and the New Look Pure Colour Baked Highlighter it had taken a back seat. This is still one of my all time favourite highlighters and if you have yet to give it a try you can find it on Feel Unique.
For the eyes, my palette collection seems to have grown a foot since 2014 and one of my go too eye shadow palettes use to be the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. You would expect the scent of chocolate to deteriorate after six months but it smells as delicious as when I first opened it. Too Faced created one of my favourite matte shades called Salted Caramel in this palette which I am hoping I can find in a single eye shadow as I hit pan on it recently. Ever since I rediscovered this palette it has been on my eyes.
When it came to lips, there was only one place to go and that was my Topshop Lipsticks. I love lipsticks and fell in love with the formula of the Topshop Velvet Matte lipsticks. They recently fell to the wayside the more lipsticks I acquire. The shade I have on is called Inhibition, which is a stunning grey purple shade which if you have very pale skin can make you look slightly washed out and on the dark side, however for those of you who have a slightly more deeper skin tone, this can look very flattering.
I always enjoy looking through my collection from time to time. I usually do my make up next to collection, that way I am able to switch things up, however I have been in a rut recently and this helped me get out of a make up funk without making a trip to Boots and Superdrug.
