Book Review And then we ran by Katy Cannon is a wonderful book full of love, adventure and deep heart break. It is the type of book that captures you in the world Cannon has created. The book was everything I was hoping it would be and more, I could go on and on about it which is why I thought I would share Five Reasons To Read And Then We Ran by Katy Cannon.

The English References

I think I have mentioned this before, but the majority of books I read tend to focus around America which there is nothing wrong with but the fact the writing included English references and language within it made it more relatable to me.

You will become deeply attached to the characters.

The book focuses on Megan and Elliot, we are taken on their quest to make something of their lives. While taking us on this Cannon makes up feel the happiness within the happy moments, the tears in the sad moments and the frustration in the angry moments. She does this with all the characters in the book. I wanted to shout at Sean to step up as Elliots Big Brother, Sit down Megan Parents and tell them exactly what their actions were doing to Megan. She takes you on the journey of the entire village – not an easy task.

The Movie Esque Feel

I know a Book to Movie Adaption is not something Cannon would have considered while writing this book, however she description through the language and conversation of the story brought the story to life. So much so I was able to vividly see it play out in my mind as I was reading it.

It gives you hope.

There is a lot of devastation in this video which helps to put your life in to perspective. The main charactors in the story have suffered lost in some shape or form. You see their journey as they try to make their way through this hurt and emotion. It gives you hope as it shows you if you have a pure heart, communicate your thoughts, nothing is as bad as it can origionally seems.

You cannot put it down.

I read this book, too and from work and I had so much trouble putting it down. I would have to force myself to put it down to get to work. It would be the first thing I would to read when I got on the bus. In fact I would be so engrossed in it I was often scared I would miss my stop.

And Then We Ran is a truly wonderful Young Adult Fiction Read. It is not too heavy but heavy enough it has depth to it. You enter in to a world you can imagine living in and are disappointed when it comes to an end.

If you are looking for a new book to read And Then We Ran is available to purchase here. Let me know if you pick it up!
