Not a week goes past where I do not hear about a new podcast being announced and over the past couple of weeks, I had a little bit of a podcast overhaul and thought I would share some of the new podcasts to download and brighten your day.
Get it off your Breasts
You all already know I love Emma Gannon’s podcast Ctrl Alt Delete. She recently teamed up with Liana Bird to start a new podcast. Each podcast has a special guest where they discuss everything from the latest news to what really peeved them off recently.
Happy Mum Happy Baby
Now hear me out on this one. I know I know I am not a mother, nor does it look likely I will be one in the near future but there is something rather comforting about the new podcast from Giovana Fletcher. If you are in your late twenties and looking for an honest frank discussion on what it is like to be a mother, this is one for you. Content to do with motherhood and being a parent isn’t something which generally resonates with me personally, but this podcast really does. I started listening to it due to my love for Gi and her content but ended up being hooked. My best friend recently became a mother for the second time to a beautiful little boy and I shared this with her too.
Each episode has a guest and they have an open and raw discussion about the ups and downs of looking after another being. Guests have included Frankie Bridge and Izzy Judd both of whom talk about needing time away from babies, mental health and the struggles to conceive.
Diary of a CEO
This one is for those of you who are interested into business. It is a podcast by the CEO of Social Chain Steve Bartlett. There is a lot of romanticism surrounding starting a business but the reality is, it takes a lot of time, grit and determination and Steve gives you the raw honest truths of the struggles he faced in the first five years of setting up his business. From scrounging for food and maintaining friendships and relationships with your family. It really put things into perspectives and while it makes me determines also gives me a realistic expectation of the struggles you have at the beginning of your business journey. (I am actually listening to the latest episode now as I am writing this post)
The Heart of It
As you can see I have a thing for raw honest and frank conversations and again this is what you get when you listen to the new podcast from Estee. All she claims is to have interest in the subjects she talks, there is no perception she is an expert in the topics but has a thirst for knowledge and a willingness to learn more. She is on a journey and she is letting her be a part of this which is why I love listening to The Heart of it. Her boyfriend Aslan and she also do something similar on her vlog channel. It is more political to an extent but I personally learned a lot about situations such as North Korea and found it incredibly interesting.
Desert Island Discs
I mean this one isn’t a new series but recently I heard a lot of my friends at work mention this so decided to give it a listen and it really gives you an insight into the lives of the likes of Sheryl Sandberg and others in highly regarded positions about the highs and lows through their journey. I had to admit I wasn’t sure to expect as it is not my usual podcast of choice (I thought it was going to be a lot more formal than it was) but it is worth the hype.
Let me know if you download any of these podcasts and where you listen to them. I often listen to mine on my commute and when I am writing a blogpost or in the office doing some work.
